Hello everyone
I have been a slacker and have not been posting to this blog, so here goes:
We are currently talking with DPD about our long-awaited meeting with the prospective developer of the Ramova. We have been told, by John Molloy of the Department of Planning and Development, that 2 members of our group will be given some time to sit down with the prospective developer to share our research(historical photos/wishes for the theaters future use/possible floor plans etc.), your comments, the students from BCA's essays and any other relevent information.
So,we have followed-up with John via voice mail, but have not gotten any call backs regarding a time/place where we can meet (this has been going on since right before Xmas). Also, in order for us to have this meeting John tells me that we will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement. This is a document that we are requesting to see ahead of time to review before we agree to it. While we believe it is extremely important to meet with this developer, we realize that we can not share information that is shared with us in this meeting. This makes it a bit hard to agree with this meeting, but may be the only way to meet this prospective developer.
During our conversation with John Molloy in Decemeber, 05, we were once again assured that the Ramova will not be torn down or made into condominiums. John also told me that they promise to close the open windows and holes in the windows/roof. To date, 1/24/06, this has NOT happened and the building is still open to the elements.
We are still collecting signatures and comments to share with the developer until the official meeting happens. Your comments will be heard.
Please email or comment on this blog. It's the only way we know you are out there.
Thanks!
Maureen-
